Team America visuals synced to the trailer for The Interview
This latest comedy by Seth Rogan and James Franco is stirring up some serious anger from North Korea. Gee, I wonder why? I mean, it's not like North Korea is known for its irrational approach to international diplomacy and extreme hatred for America...
Speaking to the state media agency KCNA, a North Korean foreign ministry spokesperson said that releasing it would be "an act of war" and promised "merciless" retaliation. Commenting on the premise of the film, the spokesperson said that "making and releasing a movie on a plot to hurt our top-level leadership is the most blatant act of terrorism and war and will absolutely not be tolerated."
While the threats may be worrying for the filmmakers, it is certainly giving them a lot of free PR. The threats are also well-timed as the trailer of The Interview was recently released earlier in June.
Thanks for the headsup, Daily Dot!
The highly acclaimed actor recently snapped this risqué photo of himself in front of the mirror and loaded it to Instagram for all of his 1.9 million followers to see. It wasn't until an hour after posting it that he decided to remove the photo.
It seems ol' Franco is enjoying the explicit attention these days with just recently stirring up some controversy after videos and texts were leaked from an underaged girl being pursued by the 35-year-old.
Is it all just a coincidence that the same day James Franco was accused of being inappropriately flirtatious with a teenager, the new trailer releases for his upcoming film in which he plays a teen-seeking high school teacher? Or has Franco played the ultimate prank on us?
James Franco is a Showbiz stud who is generally thought of as not having a problem getting the girls he goes after. 17-year-old Lucy Clode from Scotland got a look at the movie star's romantic tenacity when she met him at an autograph signing in New York. After making an Instagram video of him and being told to tag him (and oh, she did) things started to get weird. Luckily for us, she decided to document the whole creepy correspondence.
Clode and Franco soon started direct messaging one another where she tells him that she's in New York with her mom for her 18th birthday (which isn't until next month). That doesn't seem to slow down old Franco.
Clode eventually turned him down after the DMs turned to texts, but to prove that it was really him, Franco wrote her name on a piece of paper and sent her a photo of him holding it.
The exchange started circulation the internet and soon Franco had this in a response:
Who are two people you never thought you'd see embracing each other on the cover of Vogue magazine? It's probably James Franco and Seth Rogan. We all remember their ridiculously hilarious shot-for-shot parody music video of Kanye West "Bound 2" that featured he and Kim Kardashian in explicit embraces. After that, I guess it's no surprise that they couldn't resist posting this shopped photo to Instagram.
