Deadpool Celebrated The Golden Girls' 30th Anniversary and It Was Glorious

Monday marked the 30th Anniversary of the first episode of The Golden Girls, the show where four older ladies live together, eat pastries, and make d*ck jokes. The premise is so great, Betty White is a cult phenomenon even now (although we prefer to think it's from her Mary Tyler Moore Show days). And could there be a bigger fan of semi-ironic, mid-80's, octagenarion television than Marvel's very own Deadpool?

No... The answer is no

The Merc with a Mouth took to his new movie's twitter to congratulate Dorothy, Rose, Blanche and Sophia the only way he knows how: with dolls!

Marvel took Netflix binge-watchers by storm with Daredevil earlier this year. Now their next series, Jessica Jones is on it's way. Based on one of Marvel's first Rated-R comic series, written by Brian Michael Bendis, Jessica Jones will follow a c-list superhero after tragedy makes her hang up her cape. Now she's an alcoholic private investigator working on super powered cases.

Normally, ESPN's Body Issue portrays athletes in their most vulnerable position: stark naked. As a celebration of the human form, The Body Issue exhibits the raw form of athletes from all disciplines and in all shapes and sizes.

This year, Marvel is getting in on the action by having their artists create detailed anatomical drawings of a handful of their characters, including Iron Man, She-Hulk, Captain Marvel and Daredevil. Check out their digital gallery before the issue goes on sale July 10th.

The artists also discuss how being a superhero affects their drawings:

"[She-Hulk] is a character of power, so I keep her upright: shoulders back, chest out-just a very commanding presence." - Frank Cho
So it's sexy and informational!

Ladies and germs, the next teenage white guy to take up the mantle of Peter Parker is none other than nineteen year old Tom Holland. A relative unknown, Holland hails from the UK and has been in such films as The Impossible and TV mini-series Wolf Hall. The film will be directed by Jon Watts (Cop Car), and is slated for release on July 28, 2017.

It looks like Holland has already been practicing for stunts on the film:

Let's be real, this rumor from The Daily Star probably has exactly zero truth to it, so for now let's say there's a slight chance we could be welcoming Queen Bey to the Avengers.

Apparently, Beyoncé moved from New York to LA earlier this year in order to reboot her acting career, and the MCU might be just the place for her to get her feet wet.  An unnamed executive at Disney was quoted as saying "we would love to have Beyoncé on board, almost certainly as a newcomer to the screen from Marvel’s existing catalogue of comic book characters."  The characters she's rumored to be in the running for are Boom-Boom, Blink, Tigra, or Hawkeye.

As hot of a Tigra Beyoncé would be, these are all pretty ridiculous options.  If she were to join the MCU, who would you want Beyoncé to play?  One of these ladies?  Someone else?

While Marvel has yet to confirm the rumor, Latino Review is reporting that veteran child actor, Asa Butterfield (Hugo, Ender's Game) will take up the web in the upcoming Spider-Man reboot.

In case you didn't know, Sony has made a deal with Marvel Studios to allow New York's resident web-slinger into the MCU, and subsequently The Avengers. The deal in place will bring Spidey into an upcoming Marvel movie (supposedly Captain America: Civil War) before getting a solo movie of his own, co-produced by Marvel and Sony in 2017. Unfortunately, the Andrew Garfield run as Peter Parker was canceled when this new deal was struck.

Marvel's going young, hiring the 18-year-old actor to play a High School aged Parker.

One of the Original X-Men Comes Out

In Marvel's All New X-Men the original team of teenage mutants, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Angel, Beast, and Iceman travel into the future to fight alongside their modern-day counterparts. In the leaked pages to the upcoming 40th issue, fans discovered that Bobby Drake/Iceman is gay.

While he's confused, because the modern day Iceman is straight, he finds comfort in psychic Jean Grey, who discovered his secret with her powers.

Ant-Man's Ant-Sized Billboards Are Amazing

Marvel's continued their tiny viral marketing campaign for July's Ant-Man with some amazingly tiny billboards. While the trailers are down-playing the humor of the next Marvel franchise, the other marketing channels certainly aren't taking themselves too seriously.

This morning, DC Comics, creators of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and countless other iconic heroes, officially closed their New York Offices, their home since 1934.

Marvel responded to the news, by offering a tearful gif of Rocket Raccoon. While, DC Comics is fine and will thrive in their new LA home, NYC was the birth place of hero comics, and has been a part of their culture from the very beginning.

New York will miss you DC Comics.

Marvel continues it's dripping release of Avengers: Age of Ultron media with a poster of the eponymous villain March 16. He's got his own age, so, you should probably take him seriously. Even though he looks NOTHING like James Spader.
