You know that old legend about the evil version of Santa Claus, right? The one they call Adam Scott.

Just kidding.

They are finally making a movie based around the nightmarish figure that comes to take bad children away in Germanic lore.

Look at this nasty dude:

It seems like it should be a no brainer to make one around this, and it's comet to fruition. Not only that, but the trailer doesn't look absolutely terrible.

It's got some haunting moments and some good imagery. It looks like Kramps himself will be suuuuuper creepy looking.

Like this:

So, whatever. there are far worse things to base a movie around.

Is this the scariest movie trailer ever? Well, that's what the Internet is saying at least.

Goodnight Mommy is an Austrian film that tells the story of two twin brothers dealing with their Hellish, bandaged-up mommy who is possibly, probably a demon.

It has been out for a while, but doesn't premiere in the US until September. A hefty discussion has started on Reddit (spoilers) which gives some insight into if this really is the scariest trailer of all time.

Watch the trailer above and see for yourself. Just remember...

Mommy's always watching.

It seems like only yesterday that we got the first glimpse of the Goosebumps movie. Oh wait. It was only yesterday.

In the wake of the media avalanche that is San Diego Comic Con, Sony Pictures maybe wanted to get ahead of the curve with the release of the first poster.

And only the day after, we received the first trailer for the movie based on the long-running series of young adult/children's horror books. If you're anywhere between the ages of 12 and 35, you probably have some experience reading these books to the point of fright.

And now you'll be able to watch a movie about it in October! The future!

In this take on the book series that started in 1992, Jack Black plays the author R.L. Stine as he's tasked with rounding up his creations.

Well, they both have glasses.

UPDATE

The official Twitter account of the movie just dropped a new, official trailer on the hot heels of the other one.

Welcome to National Goosebumps Day, apparently.

Get Creeped Out by These Rejected Posters for The Shining

The renowned classic graphic designer Saul Bass, famous for his many movie posters and title scenes, also drew the poster for the Stanley Kubrick creepfest The Shining.

The AV Club posted some of the Bass' lost posters which Kubrick rejected out right. The classically fussy English director also penciled his criticisms in the haunting art.
